Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The beautifully figured top opens to reveal a fitted interior, now lined in green baize, which is supported on a well-turned solid pillar leading to the "?quadrapartite" base and four solid apple-shaped feet within which can be found the original castors. 30ins (76cms) high.

Originally used in the Drawing Room (for holding loose tea, which was mixed with hot water from an urn before serving) a teapoy makes an elegant Side Table today, with the additional advantage of useful storage space.
