Description

Superb mid 19th.c. rosewood writing or sofa table c.1840. Beautiful top featuring particularly well figured and symmetrically arranged rosewood veneers and crossbanded edge. Unusual shaped apron all the way around, allowing the table to stand freely in a room. Raised on tapering octagonal column legs with crisply carved detail to the bases over long plinths with shaped and carved feet with original castors. Note the lack of a connecting stretcher and the shallow apron allows the table to be used as a writing desk. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
