A rare and very good quality Anglo Indian ebony, porcupine quill and bone inlaid writing box.

The whole having ivory or bone dot inlay, the lid interior having native specimen woods inlaid to the centre with engraved elephant and flower heads. The double fold opens to reveal leather writing surfaces with storage areas below, one containing 3 secret drawers. The box has several lidded compartments and a round and inlaid straight edge.The whole in excellent original condition with replaced leather writing surfaces and working lock & keys.
