Japanese Meiji Period Silver Wire Cloisonne Enamel Box

A splendid Japanese Meiji period cloisonne enamel silver wire box & cover, of oval form on midnight blue ground decorated with wisteria & iris in bloom on the cover and butterflies around the sides, finished with a Japanese mon on the underside. This fine box has a metal lined interior with metal mounts and measures 3 ½ inches across; there is a small dent to the top of the inner rim & minor pitting otherwise the box is in excellent condition.
