Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Lion of St Mark is the historical symbol of the Republic of Venice, representing Mark the Evangelist. In classical architectural reliefs, the winged lion often holds an open book during times of peace or a raised sword during times of war.

Sienna marble is quarried in Tuscany, Italy, and is identified by its warm yellow to ochre tones, often featuring darker veining and natural tonal variations. It has been favoured since antiquity and the Renaissance period for decorative carving and architectural accents.

Authentic antique marble reliefs display natural surface patination, subtle hand-carving marks, and slight edge wear consistent with age. Modern reproductions often use resin composites or machine tooling, which lack the hand-carved depth and stone grain of genuine carved marble.

Carved stone reliefs can be mounted directly onto focal walls, displayed on picture ledges, or placed on custom metal stands within shelving units. Their tactile texture and historic motifs create contrast against smooth, modern wall surfaces.

Antique marble panels should be dusted regularly with a soft, dry brush or microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, acidic liquids, or abrasive tools, using only pH-neutral stone cleaner diluted in warm water if gentle cleaning is required.
