Antique Late Victorian Aesthetic Large Oak Library Bookcase C1890

Superb Late Victorian Aesthetic Movement Large Oak Library Bookcase and dating from around 1890. Constructed from quality solid oak it has a moulded cornice top above a deep frieze with four carved and moulded dividing columns leading to the base and all of which have incised carving. There are three sections to the bookcase with each section having four fully adjustable shelves. The base has a carved edge to the top above three frieze drawers all of which are oak lined with carved edging. This is above three doors with fielded panels and the doors being divided by incised carved columns and with carved columns to each end. Internally there is a single shelf to each cupboard. The whole being raised on a deep plinth base and it separates into four pieces for ease of transporting.

MEASURES: 94” HIGH TO TOP X 37.5” HOGH TO BASE X 18” DEEP ( 9.1/4” deep top) x 68” WIDE

With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
