Each of the seven rectangular drawers having finely carved leaf and harebell detail, circular brass ring pull handles and the drawer edges are banded in satinwood. The kneehole also has finely carved floral spandrels and the sides and back are also constructed using the finest figured solid mahogany and with satinwood banded detail. Standing on six elegant square tapering supports with brass cup castors. Stamped James Shoolbred to the frieze drawer, who was one of the finest late 19th Century cabinet makers. This desk has been finished all around and can be used free standing in the centre of a room. England circa 1890-1900
