Malacca, Silver & Ivory Walking Stick Cane. Hallmarked B&co 1888

Description

This fine antique walking cane which dates from 1888 has a beautiful malacca shaft with pronounced ridge, ornately decorated silver top and collar, brass tip and a superbly crafted unusual fluted handle which has a nice creamy colour.

This quality stick is a good length, fully hallmarked for London 1888 with the maker / retailer marks and would make a wonderful piece for a walking stick collector.

Nicely monogrammed to the top with J.M.

Date: 1888.

Hallmarked to top: Lion for sterling silver. Leopards head for London. Date letter N for 1888. B & Co and JD for the maker and retailer.

Marked twice to collar: B & Co.

Length: 93 cm - 36 1/2" approx.

Weight: 270 grams.

Condition: Excellent used antique condition with some light signs of use in keeping with age. Some scratches, small bruises and general wear. The malacca shaft has some light surface cracking.
