Antique French Gilt Wood Sofa

Description

This antique French gilt wood sofa is in very good condition & I would date it to around the 1850’s period. The frame is beautifully hand carved all over & the gilding is original with some natural wear showing through in places. We didn’t want to mess around with the gilding, so we only had it cleaned a bit. The frame is structurally sound & sturdy. It has been completely re-upholstered in a cream fabric with double piped edges & the seat is fully sprung. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate the crisp carvings & the finish.
