Description

Superb set of eight late 19th.c. Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs c.1890. Six chairs plus two large matching carver armchairs. Fine quality mahogany frames with shaped cresting rails and pierced back splats with crisp acanthus leaf carving and gadroon detail. Shaped and carved arms with scrolling acanthus terminals on swept supports. Over generous seats retaining vintage pillar box red leather upholstery with brass studs. Raised on tapering square front legs carved with harebells over stepped and moulded block feet with crisp fluted detail. Joined with unusual square stretchers. Excellent colour and condition, simply cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
