Camden Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The fiddeleback veneers are found to the top, sides , drawer fronts , dividing rails and feet - a very expensive cut of timber with a stunning ripple pattern effect. All drawers are lined in solid quarter sawn English oak in correct period fashion, immaculately dovetailed front and back. Other indications of the high quality is the use of mahogany for the construction of the drawer rails and drawer stops and more importantly the satinwood faces of the drawer fronts are also veneered onto solid single pieces of curved and shaped mahogany. Fitted with its original locks , the solid brass handles are later replacements. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops and now offered for sale in splendid condition, with a rich colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home. A truly fine quality piece of English Georgian furniture.
