A superb clock set or 'Garniture de cheminee' in beautiful clean and bright gilded brass. Modelling of the set is superb, heavily formed with crisp, clean and well finished edges. It is in the style of Louis XVI, architectural in shape and profusely decorated with fretted foliage and floral swags, scrolls and masks. Candelabra have arms boldly modelled as foliage and mythical creatures. They are complete with original snuffers that sit in the central sconce as finials.

The dial is gilt brass and is mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches.

The French movement is of the high quality and runs for 8 days on one wind. It is in excellent condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It strikes half hourly on a bell and is complete with a replacement pendulum. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition is excellent, the case has a clean and bright finish with some very minor wear or tarnish. The candelabra arms are very slightly distorted as are some of the drip trays. The dial is also in excellent condition, with no chips or scratches. A stunning clock set ready for display, as you can see below!

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
