Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The curved and dished top rail with scrolled ends. The side rails tapered outward, and sweeping downward to scrolled, leaf decorated hand holds. The supports with restrained scrolled leaf terminals, as per the hand holds. The front rail with reed frieze, finished to either end with flower head paterae. The chair standing on turned and reeded legs, tapering to brass cup castors. The whole with cane/bergere sides and seat, in good condition throughout. Wonderful 'skin' and colour.
