A very stylish pair of silver Corinthian twisted column candlesticks. The sconces are decorated with beading that is reflected on the stepped base and the top of the columns are embellished with stylised acanthus leaves and scrolls. The candlesticks are weighted so stand nice and solidly. Clear hallmarks are visible around the rim of each base for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark for 1894 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The silvermaker''s mark is also visible: Jenkins & Timm
Condition: The candlesticks are in very nice condition. There are a few minor dings around the base of the candlesticks, one does look as if it has been pushed in slightly causing a slight crease at the base of the column (please see close up in last photo). There is some wear to the sharp edges, however, this does not detract from the appearance of the items and we mention these for accuracy.
