Hingstons of Wilton has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It was made circa 1900, in one of the prestige workshops of the day.

Whilst it does not have the Maple & co stamp to the drawers it has all the features of one of their desks of this period. The chamfered drawer fronts, the handles, and the fluted stiles running down the sides give it this companies hallmark.

The drawer linings go 2/3rds of the way back , which is essential for good useful storage.
The desk with its inset rouge gilt tooled leather writing surface with a good wide walnut border running around the edge.

Below the top is a wide central drawer above the kneehole. To each side of the kneehole are pedestals fitted with 3 graduated drawers. All the drawer linings are in fine mahogany.
The pedestals stand on good deep plinths with concealed castors under. The desk is finished and polished all the way around, so that you could use this standing away from the wall if required.

Constructed in 3 sections , this allows it to be moved easily around your home or office (as per the last image showing the top moved so that you can see the location blocks).
This size and quality of desk is difficult to find, not so many were made and were made for the professional classes of the day.

Imagine sitting at this desk and having the luxury of so much work space as well as enjoying the quality of its cabinet work and selection of the mahogany.
