Description

A quality Russian marine chronometer. A 3 tier brass bound mahogany box with brass label numbered 5737. The original outer box with leather strap. The original winding key. A 2 day duration fusee mechanism with cut bi-metallic balance and blued steel helical balance with compensating weights. An Earnshaw design spring detent. A silvered engraved dial signed 'NOAET'' with number 7373 and showing power reserve indicator. A rotating gimball which an be locked. Circa 1940.
