Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Overton Clocks of Chesterfield ltd

An absolutely pristine inlaid Mahogany quarter chiming longcase clock with glass door and three polished brass weights.
The stunning Edwardian period free standing mahogany case has a most wonderful inlaid marquetry work to the swan necks and base panel, every edge has a good quality crossbanding and linework inlay that has no losses, scratches or dents. The highly polished veneer is of a colour that shows its 100 years of age and this clock has clearly been well cared for over its life so far.
The quarter chiming movement plays the Westminster chime every quarter on four long gongs and strikes the hour on a further tuned and harmonised four separate gongs. The notes are deep and clear and due tot the wide case resonate in a very pleasing manner. The three polished weights and the polished pendulum bob suspended from a mahogany rod can be clearly seen through the perfect bevelled glass to the door. All locks have a key present.
The movement has been fully overhauled by me personally and comes with a full three years guarantee for your peace of mind in your investment.
The perfectly silvered dial is without any scratches, dents or marks and compliments the gilt spandrels and black hands.
These Edwardian clocks are very imposing and have a stance that would compliment any home, there tone is a deep resonating sound and the tick from the deadbeat escapement is crisp and melodic. This clock has to be seen in the flesh ( so to speak) to fully appreciate the quality of this clock.
