Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 17th Century.
This is an old and charming rustic piece of carved oak furniture, the top section has a long cupboard enclosed by 2 thick doors and a centre panel, the doors are carved with the wheel of life and the centre panel is the ancient tree of life, the top cornice is carved and this section is supported by turned columns.

The lower section has the wavy carving matching the cornice and 2 large doors enclosing an original shelved cupboard, the carving on the door panels is in the Celtic style with interlocking curls and diamonds

This piece dates from around 1660, this is reflected in its condition, it has had the locks replaced and it has been altered to make the top section lift off to give give ease of access, this has left a small split in the top but it works well and is very sound when assembled

The cupboard is 63” high, 59” wide and 24” deep
