Imposing Regency Era Mahogany Couch C.1820.

Description

Fabulous large and imposing Regency era mahogany couch c.1820. Of striking Neo-Classical design, flanked with massive bolster ends with rope twist carved detail to the front edge. Backrest with a shaped and crossbanded top rail with turned roundels over a sprung seat. Shapely moulded and flame mahogany veneered apron, continued on the sides and raised on unusual front legs. In good condition, the woodwork has been cleaned and polished in our workshops. Upholstery is serviceable if a bit tired, with some marks and a repair to the rear.
