In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The metal tin is painted black with gold detail and it has the original wig stand inside the tin. Inside the lid the maker's name is printed"Ravenscroft Law. Wig & Robe Maker. Lincolns Inn. London".

The overall condition is excellent and both the wig and the tin display beautifully. The hair on the wig is full and generally tidy and there are many curls. The wig is well over 100 years old and has been used over the years so please expect there to be some signs of wear. The tin has some areas of wear on the paint and some small surface marks and links but nothing detrimental and overall it is clean and tidy and the hinge is strong.
The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask. UK delivery £10.
