Description

A handsome antique Georgian side cabinet in figured mahogany with inlay dating from circa 1800 converted from a commode. With a single frieze drawer with lock and key over a cupboard with a shelf to the interior. It has beautifully figured mahogany with to the front with inlay, with attractive brass drop handles and stands on turned legs. Lovely age and patina to the wood. This piece would have originally started life as a commode / chamber pot cupboard and has been converted into a side cabinet at some point. A high quality piece it would make a lovely side cabinet.

Condition Report:

Good colour and patina. Only one handle to the cupboard door has a pull on it. General wear and marks commensurate with age. Old worm holes to back. Some old filed holes to the front of the cupboard and sides. It would have stated life as a commode and has been converted into a side cabinet.
