A Burr Walnut, Kingwood & Ormolu Mounted Victorian Period Davenport

Description

A burr walnut, kingwood & ormolu mounted Victorian Period davenport. The top with an ormolu gallery and inset inkwell stands, which appear to be the original inkwells and pen-tray. The sloping top with an inset green leather writing surface, kingwood banding and an ormolu beaded edge. The hinged top opens to reveal a tiger maple veneered interior. The front and sides veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut with kingwood banded detail. The right hand side opening to reveal four tiger maple veneered drawers with mahogany linings and cast ormolu handles. Raised on elegant carved cabriole supports, upon a burr walnut veneered plinth with bun feet and inset brass and porcelain castors. English circa 1870

Dimensions: 23.5" wide x 22.5" deep x 33" high

Condition: This davenport is in excellent condition, cleaned and waxed. Later replacement leather writing surface
