Antique 19th Century Flemish Carved Oak Narrow Bookcase on Cupboard C1880

Antique 19TH Century Flemish Carved Oak Narrow Bookcase on cupboard and dating from around 1880. Constructed from solid oak it has a flared canopy cornice above a carved frieze with lion mask to each side with iron rings. There is a further carved frieze above two glazed doors flanked on either side by carved figurines and the doors with original lock and key. Internally there are two original shelves. The base has a moulded edge to the top above a carved oak lined frieze drawer with lion mask handle and to each side of which is a further carved lions head mask with ironwork ring. This leads to a panelled carved door with figuratively scene to the centre and the door with original lock and key and with a single internal shelf. The door is flanked on either side by a carved figure. It has a moulded plinth base and is raised on style feet. The top removes from the base for ease of transporting.

With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
