A Stunning Original Untouched Late 18th Century Moonphase Longcase With Sweep Date By Samual Lomax C1780

A rare opportunity to purchase a totally original untouched late 18th Century (c1780) Lancashire Longcase Clock by Samual Lomax in a very good condition.
The beautifully made mahogany case is in exceptional condition having been clearly well looked after over the past 250 years! There are no knock, dents or scratches in the very well made case. the door is not warped and the base has the traditional "Brick" effect that identifies this clock as a Lancashire clock.
The well proportioned dial has the rarer checker board centre engine turning and the perfectly blued hands read seconds, hours, minutes and "Sweep" date. The very lifelike moonphase has clearly been painted by an artist who took pride in producing the best. Above the moonphase is the text " The Man is yet unborn, Who duly weighs and hour"
unusually, the very well made eight day five knopped pillar movement has never been restored before and has no dents, scratches or "hammer Rash" that is so evident of the poor treatment longcase clocks so often receive. I have personally completely dismantled, hand cleaned and re-commissioned the movement taking great care in ensuring that this very original clock remains so.
This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a totally unrestored, but perfectly preserved late 18th century Lancashire Clock.
