Regency Cut Glass Jug

Description

A Regency Cut Glass Water Jug, Ewer.

With a broad spout sweeping to a fine reed decorated rim. The neck and shoulders decorated with horizontal reeded bands, above the body decorated with hobnail cut diamonds. The jug tapering to a ground pontil base. The handle with a cut thumb grip, spreading to the facetted sweep, tapering outward to join the body.

Date c 1820.

Height 7 1/2 inches, 19cm.

Width 7 inches, 18cm.
