Silver-mounted Boulle Desk Stand

Description

A good mid-19th century Boulle-work DESK STAND or "Standish" of ebony, profusely inlaid with ornate brass scrollwork, with a central lidded compartment (which was probably for wafers) flanked by twin inkwells, both of which have ornate silver lids, hallmarked London 1851. 12.5ins wide.
