Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Typical of the biedermeier style, any applied decoration, handles etc is eschewed in favour of natural grain of the timbers used. In this case superbly figured flame mahogany veneers which are laid in a symmetrical repeating pattern across the front with the original inlaid brass keyhole escutcheons being the only interruption to the pattern. Highly figured mahogany veneers are also used on the sides. Original brass locks and large key. Oak drawer linings and back panel. Minor damage to the veneers, generally excellent condition and particularly good colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Dimensions: width 34", depth 22", height 36".
