Description

An extremely rare Large Pewter Alms Dish or Charger in wonderful condition, it has wrigglework to the border of the dish and an wrigglework engraved scene of "Adam and Eve" to the centre of the dish, they appear to be escorted out of the Garden of Eden

It has touch marks to the rim which appear to be an "angel" and initials "BL" and the date 1634 within a shield.

There are also initials "SR" and "VK" inscribed to the rim, these may be owners of the dish.

Although we have not yet found out who the touchmarks relate to, it appears that the dish may be either French or German.
