Antique Regency Mahogany Secretaire Chest C1820

Antique Regency Mahogany Secretaire Chest and dating from around 1820. Constructed from quality mahogany it has a moulded edge to the top above a cross banded frieze with ebony stringing. The top Secretaire drawer with original brass handles and ebony stringing folds down to form a desk top with Baise writing surface. To the centre there is a long drawer above four pigeon holes flanked on either side by four small drawers all of which are satin birch . To the base there are three long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined with original brass handles and ebony stringing. It is moulded to the base and stands on bun feet.

MEASURES: 42” HIGH X 22.5 DEEP X 43” WIDE AND knee height to desk 26”

With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
