The Regency ''longcase'' or Grandfather clock with round convex dial. This particular example is made by the clock maker Christie of Chancery Lane , London. The convex dial is signed by the makers and has very elegant Regency hands. The clock is wound once a week and strikes the hours on a bell. The very ''figured'' flame mahogany case is perfectly proportioned and retains the original double plinth to the base, canted This example has trunk door with a glass central panel which may have been a Victorian modification, it''s comforting to see the pendulum swing and the weights slowly descending.
