Of rectangular form the plateau with 36 apertatures, the base with 3 lift out metal drip trays, the ends with arched gothic castings with original blackened and bronzed decoration, sitting on a cast frame with architectural plinth. Coalbrookdale pattern number 12826 and number 21c casting catalogue of 187 5, page 235, number 221. A very rare and desirable item ideal for a club, hotel, store, large residence or apartment foyer. Circa 1875.
