Antique English Crocodile or Alligator Skin Clad Jewelry Box

Description

Dating to the Victorian era, this stunning little jewellery box is covered in a stunning piece of glossy chocolate brown crocodile or alligator skin.

The top is inset with a brass carrying handle, complimenting the brass escutcheon to the front.

The interior has the original removable tray lined in velvet and silk; I think the jewel toned purple to the interior of the lid is a later replacement but in keeping being silk.

The tray has a long ring holder to the rear which would hold about six rings.

A charming and very usable antique in excellent condition, measuring 7" x 5" x 3 5/8" high, no key.
