18th C Mahogany Butlers Tray with Hinged Sides

Description

A George III Mahogany Butlers Tray and Stand.

With four arched sides, rising on brass bayonet hinges to form a rectangular tray when raised, and an oval tray when the sides are folded flat. The tray with four panels, within broad rails. The sides of the tray with shaped hand holds. The tray complete with the folding mahogany stand, held open with web bands. The stand legs joined by stretchers.

Date c 1780.

Height 28 1/2 inches, 72cm (sides flat).

Width 39 inches, 99cm (sides flat).

Depth 32 1/2 inches, 82cm (sides flat).
