Unusual Silver Pepper/spice Shaker Sheffield 1935

An unusual and most enchanting solid silver Spice/Pepper Shaker. The Pot base has two neat handles either side. The top pulls on and off perfectly. The top is decorated with perforated holes forming the shape of a star to allow the contents to be sprinkled.
 
One side of the pot bears the very clear hallmarks for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark for 1935 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver along with the silvermaker''s mark: William Hutton & Sons Ltd. Partial hallmarks are also visible on the inside lip of the lid.
 
 
 
A rare and unusual item and in lovely antique collector''s condition and a good heavy gauge silver.
