It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. It is very original and there are signs of age and wear and signs of historic worm in places but nothing detrimental. Where necessary small repairs and restorations have been sympathetically made over the years, including a small repair to a break at the front of one foot. All the old worm has been treated as a precaution and further treated with a wood hardener to capture the piece in its original state while making it strong and sturdy and usable for years to come. The whole piece has been cleaned and given a gentle polish and is ready for the home.
