A large and stunning original antique French clock of the highest quality.
Between his arms is a bird, allegorical of love. Beautifully modelled in ormolu (finely gilded bronze) and mounted on a white marble base.
The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with finely cut gilt hands. The dial is signed for the retailer H.A. Kloosterhuis of Amsterdam.
The French movement is of high quality and is by Vincenti. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!
Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration, just some occasional rubbing on the high spots. The marble is also in excellent condition with some tiny nibbles to the edges and some slight discolouration. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles next to the winding holes.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
