Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bohemian enamelled glass refers to clear, tinted, or milk glass produced in Central Europe during the eighteenth century that features hand-painted vitreous enamel decoration. These pieces were often decorated with regional folk art motifs, floral designs, or armorial heraldry.

Pieces were individually hand-blown using free-blowing or mould-blowing techniques before being decorated with finely ground glass pigments mixed with oil. The bottle was then re-fired at lower temperatures to fuse the enamel permanently to the glass surface.

Authentic period examples generally display slight asymmetry from hand-blowing, a distinct pontil scar on the base, and micro-wear on the bottom contact points. The surface enamel should show age-appropriate wear and microscopic crazing rather than uniform modern paint thickness.

Position these bottles on deep window sills, open shelving, or lit sideboards where light can pass through the vessel to illuminate the painted details. Grouping them alongside unadorned glassware or ceramic studio pottery creates a curated balance of texture and history.

Clean gently with a soft dry microfiber cloth to remove surface dust. Avoid immersing the item in warm water, using harsh chemical detergents, or scrubbing the painted areas, as aged enamel can flake or degrade when exposed to moisture.
