A Small French Ormolu-mounted Mantel Clock

19th century
Description

An attractive mid-19th century French MANTLE CLOCK of small size and in perfect working order.

The "marble" case is decorated with ormolu mounts and surmounted by an urn whilst supported on good ormolu feet. The movement is of eight-day duration, striking hours and half-hours on a bell, with silk suspension and outside countwheel, whilst the convex enamel dial is in fine condition as are the pair of original engraved, pierced and gilded hands.

Signed to the dial: Leroy et Fils of Paris. 11.5ins high; 7.5ins wide; 4.5ins deep. (29 x 19 x 11.5cms)
