Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian fish servers are specialised two-piece serving sets, consisting of a wide knife and a matching fork, designed during the nineteenth century specifically for lifting and dividing delicate fish fillets without damaging the flesh.

These serving sets typically feature blades made from solid sterling silver or electroplated nickel silver, paired with decorative handles constructed from carved horn, bone, mother-of-pearl, or carved hardwood.

Authentic late Victorian examples usually display distinct silver hallmarks or electroplate maker marks near the ferrule, along with hand-engraved decorative motifs such as flora, fauna, or scrolling foliage typical of the late nineteenth century.

Antique fish servers can be presented open inside their original fitted presentation case on a sideboard, or incorporated into contemporary table arrangements to create visual contrast.

Clean the metal blades gently using a soft cloth and specialised silver polish, ensuring the natural horn handles are kept free from prolonged exposure to water or moisture to prevent structural degradation.
