A superb heavy gauge solid silver bowl in a stunning Celtic design with matching spoon. The bowl is in perfect circular form and stands on one foot. The Celtic decoration encircles the top of the bowl and also the edge of the foot, with four decorative circular Celtic circles protruding around the body of the bowl. Hallmarks are clearly visible on one side of the bowl for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark for 1926 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. Although assayed in Sheffield the silvermaker''s mark is for Edwards & Sons Glasgow. The base of the bowl is also stamped for Edwards & Sons and has a ref number of 13525.
The solid silver spoon also bears the same Celtic decorative circle to the top of the spoon terminal. On the back are the matching hallmarks as on the bowl.
Fabulous set in superb antique collector''s condition.
