Antique Omega pocket watch and chain.

This particular watch has a signed Omega stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made of Fahys, a New York based case maker. Joseph Fahys & Co was a high quality watch case maker with headquarters in New York. The company was founded in 1857 by Joseph Fahys, a French emigrant. Fahys supplied Omega with cases at the beginning of the 20th Century. 

The front of the case is in good condition while the back has some unevenness and some rubbing.

The acrylic watch lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial is in good condition. Whilst we are more than happy that it is an Omega pocket watch, there is a possibility that the dial may have been enhanced at some stage in its life, and it is also signed West End Watch Company.

We have never come across a West End Watch Company Omega before but an excerpt from a letter from the CEO of the current owner of West End Watches states, “West End Watch was purchasing watches bearing its brand name from several historical brands (such as Longines, Cyma, Tissot, Mido, Omega, IWC, Aubry, etc.) “

The watch comes with a single chain, 27cm long.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
