Description

A stunning cabinet by Gillows of Lancaster. Constructed from fine quality figured and quartered mahogany with satinwood, coromandel wood, boxwood and ebony inlay. The brass galleried top above the moulded frieze, the canted corners having applied gilded brass patrae. The whole raised on a coromandel inlaid frieze with square and tapered legs, raised satinwood banding and brass feet. The top single door opens to a shelved interior, the lower 2 doors also open to a shelved interior both solid mahogany lined with working locks and keys both stamped Gillows Lancaster.The cabinet has 2 impressed Gillows of Lancaster stamps to the back top edge and the whole in excellent original condition and would make a superb drinks cabinet.
