An Edwardian Period Mahogany Chippendale Style Grandmother Clock

Description

An Edwardian Period mahogany Chippendale Style grandmother clock. The removable hood with pierced fretwork detail to the broken swan neck pediment. Having an arched door opening to reveal an engraved steel dial and rolling moon phase, with engraved spandrels. The weight driven eight day movement striking a gong on the quarter and hour. The solid mahogany case with further blind fret detail, quarter reeded columns, supported on shaped ogee feet. The dial engraved Johnston & Co, Glasgow, which were probably the retailers. Circa 1900-1910

Dimensions: 79" high x 16" wide x 12" deep (hood 13" wide)

Condition: This grandmother clock is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed
