A Good Pair of Edwardian Period watercolours by J. Hughes Clayton. Each one depicts a typical fishing/harbour scene, one with a maiden awaiting the catch on the shore, the other showing the return of the fisherman. One is titled "A peaceful evening in the harbour, Anglesey" signed and titled verso, the other "Waiting low tide, Anglesey". English circa 1907

Dimensions: Frames 17" high x 27" wide x 1.5" deep (paintings 9" high x 18" wide)

Condition: This pair of paintings are in excellent original condition. There is one old repair to one frame, see images.

Joseph Hughes Clayton exhibited from 1891-1929 and was an artist who painted both oil and watercolours, mainly coastal scenes from the North West and North Wales.
