Gents antique 9ct gold Longines wrist watch, 1924.

The watch has a 16-jewel hand-winding movement, calibre 13.34, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Longines name and it also has the mark for Baume & Co, the UK distributors of Longines watches.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the articulated lugs. On closer examination of the watch, we can see that the top metal lug (the wire part) has been replaced at some stage, probably to replace the damaged original.

The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for London (import mark), 1924 with an importer's mark for Alfred Baume of Baume & Co. The front of the case is in good condition. The hinged case back has a central “ding” and some unevenness.

The winding crown is a later replacement.

The lens is in good condition.

The white eamel dial, left blank for the original retailer to add their details, has some damage by number 10 and a few faint hairline cracks.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
