A fine Japanese Meiji period bronze okimono of an Elephant & tiger group on a naturalistic carved wood base depicting the large male charging with his trunk curled up as one tiger leaps on his back and the second is trampled underfoot. The elephant has a fantastically realistic skin with original tusks and the tigers have a smoother two-toned striped finish;his fantastic okimono is signed Seiya in a cartouche on the underside stands 8 ½ inches tall. Condition: Some small, stable age related splits to the base, slight movement on bottom tiger, expected wear on the contact points.
