A Rare William Comyns Silver String Box

Description

A rare and desirable item of Victorian silver. This is a superb two part string box by the great William Comyns. The rounded box stands on four ball feet. The pull off lid has an aperture for the string to emerge and the charming dedication "F.A. from Aunt Nan 1892". The wrythen fluted pattern is a popular design by the great maker and silver string boxes are always in demand, due to their scarcity. A wonderful decorative and practical piece. Dimensions below.
