A Good Quality London Longcase by Law & Son

Description

A good quality London longcase clock. An architectural pediment with central brass patterae and coloured glass side hood apertures. A London area 'regulator' style case with a re-entrant base panel and fluted trunk sides. Choice flame mahogany case veneers. A cast brass bezel surround to the circular painted dial signed 'Law and Son, Balls Pond Road'. A seconds dial and blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

Thomas Law and Son of London are recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1863.
