Huge Top-notch Antique English Horn Cup - Sterling Silver Mounts - London 1877

Description

One of the grandest examples I have come across, this large towering beaker will be the highlight of your collection.

The top has a very thick band of sterling silver; the front has a shield shaped mount, which could be personalised if desired with an inscription; and the base has a very thick sterling silver foot.

All three pieces of silver are clearly hallmarked for London 1877, together with the highly desirable Queen Victoria's head mark. The makers mark is present too: G A into two circles for Chawner & Co - George William Adams - Hosier Street, London.

The base retains it's original clear glass bottom.

An exceptional piece measuring 6 1/2" tall with a rim diameter measuring 3 3/4". Excellent condition.
