Description
This delightful and tall sterling silver and enamelled cranberry glass dressing table jar is dated Chester 1909. The slightly tapered baluster body decorated with sprays of white enamel flowers and heightened with gilt. The neck fitted with a plain and fully hallmarked silver lid. Hallmarks: J& RG for J & R Griffin (Joseph & Richard Griffin) Chester Assay Mark. Date letter "i" for 1909. Lion Passant. Dimensions: Height: 14cm / 5.5 inches Diameter at widest: 11cm / 4.2 inches. Condition: Very good. Glass in very good condition. No chips , gilt rubbed at places, commensurate with age. Silver lid in good condition, one very minor ding.
